Michael joined Edison as a mining analyst in March 2008. After graduating as a geologist from the University of Cape Town in 2000, Michael gained experience in the mining and exploration sectors in southern Africa and South America. During this time, he worked as a geologist for Anglo American, GoldStone Resources and as a marine diamond miner contracted to De Beers. Michael then read for an MSc before joining Environmental Resources Management as part of its M&A team undertaking due diligence across a variety of sectors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and a member of the Association of Mining Analysts.
Michael has co-authored a paper on trace metal partitioning, has an interest in South African law and a passion for travelling. He is a keen swimmer and also enjoys jogging along the Thames.
