Acta S.p.A. Fuel cell catalyst Acta is an Italian material science company that listed on the UK AIM market in October. It has patented platinum-free catalyst technology that can enable fuel cells to become significantly cheaper when they reach volume production and to operate on a new fuel, ethanol, which is both safe and renewable. Although significant revenues are not expected until 2009, Acta will be a very highly operationally-geared business should it achieve success. Its broad product application and verified technology make it one of the lower risk investments in this sector. Research type: Outlook - Initiation of coverage |

ITE Group Niche focus delivers growth Despite the absence of higher margin contributions from the biennial Moscow International Oil & Gas exhibition and the one-off World Petroleum Congress in the current year, ITE should come close to matching FY05 revenue and EPS figures reported this week. This would be no mean achievement given these two events added 15% to the gross profit line in the year just reported. The group will have the benefit of a full year contribution from last year’s four bolt-on acquisitions, the accretive £30m share buy back last July and a more favourable FX environment (some 90% of revenues are invoiced in Euros or US Dollars). The expanded group expects to achieve significant benefits from combining the assets of the JV with the other assets acquired, specifically with regard to developing a mining operation and continuing its exploration programme.
