Investment summary

Interim results (14 November) were ahead of expectations with EBITDA almost quadrupling, boosted by digital sales, and Television continuing to invest in a strong pipeline of new programmes. We leave our full-year estimates unchanged for the time being, as the seasonally stronger H2 gets underway with a strong slate of titles. eOne has a growing international profile, increasingly diversified business and excellent track record. The strategic review (announced 14 September) was reported to be progressing well.

Industry outlook

International box offices appear to be holding up well despite the tough consumer environment, and Q4 has a strong slate of releases including 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn'. Digital channels are growing rapidly and beginning to be effectively monetised, as eOne's deal with LOVEFiLM illustrated. DVD markets continue to decline in line with expectations. eOne has a very broad slew of film, television and children's content and is increasingly tapping into international markets.
